Border traffic: allow extra time during Golden Week
Expect longer queues at land crossings during the National Day Golden Week holiday (1–7 October). Book early departures and allow extra time in both directions.
Shenzhen starts where Hong Kong's northern edge ends. Several land crossings link the two, and a bridge runs west across the estuary to Zhuhai and Macau.
